Merge Excel Files Online

Excel2One combines multiple spreadsheets into a single workbook without installing Excel or uploading files to the cloud. Everything runs locally in your browser, so your data stays on your device.

Processed locally · never uploaded

Why use Excel2One?

Whether you are consolidating monthly reports, sales exports, or worksheets from different teams, merging Excel files should be quick and private. Excel2One runs entirely in your browser — no Microsoft 365 account, no cloud queue, and no signup.

How to merge Excel workbooks

Add the workbooks you want to combine and set their order. Each file's worksheets are copied into one output workbook. Sheet names are prefixed with the source filename so tabs stay easy to identify. The result is downloaded as a standard .xlsx file.

  1. Select .xlsx, .xls, or .csv files, or drag them into the upload area
  2. Arrange files in the order you want their worksheets added to the output
  3. Click Merge into one workbook, then download the combined .xlsx file

Things to know before merging

Read these points before merging so you know what to expect.

  • Workbook merge — not one combined table — Excel2One copies each source worksheet as its own tab in a new file. It does not append rows from multiple files into a single sheet.
  • Headers do not need to match — Because every sheet stays separate, column headers can differ between files. The tool does not check or align schemas — data is copied exactly as stored in each sheet.
  • Multi-sheet workbooks — If a file has several tabs, all of them are included. Sheets from one file keep their original tab order, then sheets from the next file in your list are added.
  • How tabs are named — Each copied sheet is renamed filename-sheetname (for example, report-Q1-Summary). Names must be unique and fit Excel's 31-character limit; duplicates get a numeric suffix.

Your spreadsheets stay private

Excel2One never uploads your files. Reading and merging happen on your computer or phone using in-browser workers, so financial data, customer lists, and internal reports never leave your device.

Frequently asked questions

Does Excel2One upload my spreadsheets?

No. Excel2One merges workbooks locally in your browser. Your files are not transmitted to our servers or stored by us.

How many Excel files can I merge?

Up to 20 workbooks per session. Each file can be up to 50 MB, with a combined limit of 200 MB per session.

What file formats are supported?

You can add .xlsx, .xls, and .csv files. The merged result is always downloaded as a modern .xlsx workbook.

Can I change the order before merging?

Yes. Drag files in the list or use the arrow buttons. Files are processed top to bottom — worksheets from earlier files appear first in the output workbook.

What happens to worksheets inside each file?

Every sheet from every selected workbook is copied into the merged file. Within each file, sheets follow the original tab order left to right. Tabs are renamed as filename-sheetname (for example, sales-Q1-January) so names stay unique and within Excel's 31-character limit.

Does Excel2One stack all rows into one worksheet?

No. This is a workbook-level merge: each source sheet becomes its own tab in the output. If you need one long table with rows from many files, use Excel's Power Query or paste data manually after merging — Excel2One is meant to gather many sheets into one file for easier sharing and navigation.

Do column headers need to be the same across files?

No. Headers, column order, and layout can differ between files because sheets are copied independently. The tool does not validate or unify table structures. If you plan to filter or pivot across sheets later, make sure headers are consistent yourself before or after merging.

Are password-protected workbooks supported?

No. Remove the open password in Excel (or another spreadsheet app) and save an unprotected copy before merging.

Are formulas, formatting, and charts preserved?

Cell values and most formulas are copied. Some advanced features — such as macros (VBA), certain charts, pivot cache details, and complex styling — may not fully transfer. Review the output before deleting originals.

Does Excel2One work on mobile?

Yes, in modern mobile browsers. For large workbooks or many files, a desktop browser is recommended for speed and stability.
